"Chill with the beef & get some Chicken instead"

YELP REVIEWER, JOHNSON D OF GARDEN GROVE, CA

The fried chicken at Bred's is absolutely well done and seasoned. The highest spice level contains Carolina Reapers, but is not coated in absurd amounts meant to ruin your day. I think the average spice junkie should be able to handle it. My go to order has always been tenders. Breading is spot on, not tempura-like paper thin, and not like a slab of bread ready to fall off every bite. Juicy and meat still tender after 20 minutes of taking pictures! I can't pinpoint all the flavours in the seasoning, but it does taste like an intense fried chicken; hard hitting meaty flavours. The buttered toast is a different take on the thin sliced white bread typically served with hot chicken, and is rather addictive. Bred's has its own dipping sauce as well (at this point, every fried joint should!) that packs a touch of heat unlike most typical special sauces that are just heavy. The coleslaw is far from the run of the mill, mayo drenched slops that you'd find in a grocery store. Tangy and vingery, very welcome for those looking for a quick reprieve from the heat. The pickles seem to be made in house as well from what I can tell, it's no neon green bucket pickles! There's a hint of sweetness to them. If you aren't sure what to get, order the crew platter, but you can't go wrong here.

I think I'm quite experienced with fried chicken by now enough to say that this is absolutely some of the best chicken I've had. I'm looking forward to a permanent shop!
